MIAMI

MIAMI : January 2017

Need some Miami vibes?  So do I!  I came home to rain for the past two days and am already thinking which weekend we can make a quick escape back to cure the winter blues.  Coz boy was I relaxed in that sunshine!

Took notes for you and me non Miami Vicer's for the next weekend of sunsets and palm trees.  My chilled list will keep you occupied for a few days.  Otherwise you regular Miami Vicer's can you add tips to this list for my next trip down?  Gracias!

P.S. Spruce up on your Spanish because English is a second language to majority of Miami locals.  FACT.

SEE + DO

BOWLING:
This four lane bowling alley was lit!  Find it in the basement of the Edition Hotel.

OCEAN DRIVE:
Ocean Drive is the strip along the main beach in South Beach, packed with trendy boutique hotels and cafes across the street.  A park boardwalk runs between the water and outdoor cafes.  Great place if your not at the beach or dining out, to take a stroll, walk the dog, ride your bike, rollerblade, and catch the sunset.

SPA:
Big spa scene.  Every hotel pretty much has a spa.  I had a great outdoor massage on the rooftop at The Betsy, followed by complimentary champagne.  I think that's the Miami standard.  For a more luxe spa experience I was told the Delano is the place to be.

WYNWOOD:
Spend the day in Wynwood.  I loved this area so much it deserved a separate post!

EAT

COYO TACO:
It's all about the taco's!  Can't go wrong.

JOE'S STONE CRAB:
The snow crab claws and hash browns are a must.

LA LATINA:
Still dreaming about the Asago Negro and Empanadas.

THE SOCIAL CLUB:
Brunch and drinks were YUM.

WYNWOOD YARD:
Outdoor relaxed food court vibes.

SHOP

DELANO:
The boutique in the hotels lobby is tiny.  But they have an awesome selection of sunglasses by an Australian designer Pared.  I bought two pairs!

website

FRANGIPANI:
Affordable and colorful knick knacks. Ranging from home accessories, gifts, clothing, bags and jewelry.  I wish I bought more!

THE WEBSTER:
A luxury well curated store of a mix of high end fashion labels; mens and women's.  The place to splurge!

SLEEP

THE BETSY:
I stayed at this cute boutique hotel along Ocean Drive.  Location, service and ambience was excellent.  The lobby had a homey non pretentious feel.  Nightly there is live Jazz music in the lobby.  Morning rooftop yoga is complimentary.  Food was yummy.  Their ceviche and foie gras empanadas were top!  Even their corridors walking to your room are something to admire.  Rolling Stone and Beatles photography for sale line the walls of the hotel, and you feel like your walking through a art gallery!

Sorry no notes for you party animals looking for adult Disneyland!  I just did the hotel bars and lounge scene.  My favorite's being The Raleigh and the Delano.  However, I guarantee you there are plenty of places to get naughty at in South Beach!  As I described to my brother…Miami is Vegas, minus the casino, but with a real beach.
