I SPY: Art Appreciation

Oct 16, 2014

Ever heard of Jennifer Ament?  I've recently discovered her.  She's a Seattle based artist who does linocut prints.  I'm in love with her black and white prints.  Not really surprising since I'm a big black and white fan of anything!  But her neutral style and choice of subjects speak to me.  I've recently acquired one of her prints 'Bird in Hair', from One Kings Lane.  This striking piece hangs large at 29" x 41" in my kitchen and its eye catching.  I can't stop ADMIRING it!

Wouldn't that headpiece make a cool American Indian halloween costume?

I want more of her Art!  I have my eyes on her Le Charme de la Bourgeoisie collection.  I could do a whole wall cluster of her prints.

What kind of Art do you have hanging in your home?  I don't have a particular style.  My collection of Art is an eclectic mix.  Jennifer Ament's prints easily work in my mix match of wall candy!

Check out her website to appreciate more of her work.  Love her MOTTO….'I am not interested in mass production, 10 to 50 is my usual run...I love what I do, if it ever starts not being fun...I will stop doing it…'  YUP, totally agree.  Life is too short to be doing something you don't ENJOY!
